Dr. Alan Bream got into the dental field simply because he loves it. He enjoys helping patients get what they want out of dentistry and his 20-plus years’ experience assists him in providing patients with the treatment they need to achieve their goals. Education and Work Experience
Dr. Bream attended East Carolina University where he received early acceptance into dental school at the Medical College of Virginia. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1973, he went on to gain experience working at several dental clinics. He also spent four years working with the Children and Youth program at the University of Virginia’s department of pediatrics, and two years as the director of dental care at Kluge’s Children’s Rehabilitation Center and the University of Virginia Medical Center. Since 1975, he has been in private practice, providing dental care to residents of Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, and surrounding areas of Virginia. Professional Affiliations
Dr. Bream is associated with a number of professional organizations. He has served on the faculty of the University of Virginia Health Center, the Charlottesville/Albemarle Technical center, and is currently an adjunct faculty member for the University of Virginia’s Dental Residency Program. His continuing education has included joining an orthodontic study group in Washington, DC, and a mini residency in prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also a member of the following associations:

Dr. Bream was also a parish council member of his church and has done missionary work in Central America. His hobbies include sailing, horseback riding, bicycling, and hiking.
