Give yourself a reason to smile

Welcome to our practice

Serving the Charlottesville, Virginia Area’s Dental Implants Needs

Dental implants provide patients with a superior method of replacing teeth. Unlike dentures and bridges, which can look unnatural and feel unstable, the dental implants of today look and feel like your real teeth. Replacement teeth are attached to an implant fused to the jawbone, providing the stability and bite of natural teeth. Additionally, all dental implants are custom crafted to complement surrounding features, so no one has to know they are not your real teeth. The benefits of dental implants include restored health, functionality, and appearance of our Harrisonburg and Charlottesville, Virginia area patients. Learn how dental implants with implant dentist Alan Bream, DDS, can change your life.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental implants can improve our patients overall quality of life by providing patients with the ability to easily and painlessly engage in activities many of us take for granted. By restoring the functionality of the teeth, patients can chew again and comfortably eat the foods they want. Because the space between missing teeth has been filled, teeth can’t shift and cause damage to the jaw and bone, thereby improving oral health. The placement of teeth also supports facial structures, reducing sagging areas around the mouth and giving patients the confidence to smile and reveal their teeth.

The Dental Implants Procedure

Our implant dentist may decide to break up the dental implant procedure into two parts. The treatment begins with oral surgery at which time the implants are placed, and ends with the placement of teeth. To find out if dental implants are right for you, contact our Waynesboro, Virginia practice serving Harrisonburg and Charlottesville. Our implant dentist will recommend dental implants or another treatment to improve your dental health.

Oral Surgery

Dr. Alan Bream performs both the oral surgery and restoration portions of the dental implant procedure. During oral surgery, our implant dentist will insert the implant into the jawbone. This implant will act as the replacement tooth’s root. In order to provide the optimal stability of your bite, we may need to wait up to six months while the bone grows around the implant. When the bone and implant have become integrated and are ready for placement of teeth, the tip of the implant will be exposed.

Restoration of Dental Implants

Once the implant has fused to the jawbone, our implant dentist can insert the titanium post to your implant. Replacement teeth that are custom fabricated to blend in naturally with your surrounding features are attached to the titanium post, providing a stable bite and the appearance of a full set of healthy teeth. Patients throughout the Harrisonburg and Charlottesville, Virginia area who have had dental implants placed by implant dentist Alan Bream, DDS, have achieved exceptional results. Same Day Teeth

Under certain conditions, patients may be able to undergo oral surgery for the insertion of the implant, and the restoration process whereby replacement teeth are placed all in the same day. Same day teeth enable patients to have one or more implants and replacement teeth inserted all in one treatment. To find out if you are a good candidate for same day dental implants, schedule a consultation at Bream Family Dental Care. Serving residents of Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, and surrounding areas of Virginia, our implant dentist can recommend same day dental implants, the traditional dental implants procedure, or another treatment, such as dentures or bridges.
