The dental implants procedure

Depending on the patient, the implant procedure may be done over two separate appointments. The first appointment will be an oral surgery where the implants are put into place and then the second appointment will complete the treatment by putting the teeth into place on the implant. Implants are a not for everyone. To find out if dental implants are right for you, contact our Waynesboro, Virginia practice serving Harrisonburg and Charlottesville.

Restoration of dental implants

When your implant has healed and is properly fused with the jawbone, we can insert the titanium post to your implant. Then we will add the finishing touches and replacement teeth onto the titanium post. The results will be beautiful, strong, natural looking teeth. Testimonials from patients throughout the Waynesboro & Surrounding County Virginia area who have had dental implants placed by implant dentist Alan Bream, DDS, all say they have achieved exceptional results. Same day teeth

Another method of implant placement is same day teeth or "teeth in a day." Depending on the situation, you may be able to complete all the steps of the implant surgery in one day. This can be done with one or more teeth. We do recommend scheduling a consultation to see if this is the best approach for you. Depending on how your consultation goes, our implant dentist can recommend same day dental implants, the traditional dental implants procedure, or another treatment, such as dentures or bridges.

Oral surgery

Dr. Alan Bream will perform the oral surgery and restoration portions of the dental implant procedure. Oral surgery consists of the insertion of an implant into the jawbone. The implant is used to mimic the root of the replacement tooth. Depending on how fast you heal and how long it takes for the jawbone to grow around the implant we may need to wait up to six months to ensure that the stability of your bite has been optimized. Once the implant and the bone have healed and fused together your implant will be ready for placement and the tip of the implant will be exposed.
